Gisel de Marco: A Fairy Tale Journey to her Dream
Hola everyone!
I have been working on something very special…something a little bit different than my “usual” videos and I couldn’t think of a better time to show you than on the first day of 2010! As you all know, Gisel’s album will be released soon. Right now, it is in the technical aspect of the production and for those of you who know Gi, you would understand that she is a perfectionist and this album MUST meet her high standards, before we are blessed with it.
For those of you who haven’t heard Gisel sing, allow me to share my thoughts with you:
Gisel sings about love and when you read her lyrics, you get a sense of what to expect; but when you hear her sing…she will leave you wanting to hear more! The passion she injects into every song is incredibly powerful; but, when you hear her riffs…her “soft” voice…the super high notes she hits…and the power with which she delivers her message…you know this is an artist that will soon be recognized around the world!
Gisel’s Dynamic vocals showcase her 4-Octave range through many of the songs you will hear on her Sellaband playlist and on her website.
She is a brilliant, extremely talented and gifted singer and songwriter who will evoke intense emotions in the listener…you will feel her passion in every song she sings!
Her versatility surfaces when she sings soft and gentle melodies that are sensuous to the ear; but in the same breath, she is capable of unleashing powerful vocals that will leave you in awe! Just listen to “Roma”…you will understand why I write this. She begins the song softly…and then slowly builds it to an incredible finish; all while drawing the listener in, when finally, they say WOW! That was incredible! She sings this beautiful song in her native language of Spanish and even if you do not understand the words (like me), you will be moved by her message. The energy and passion she brings to this masterpiece is unrivaled! When she hits the super high note at the end…it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up…every single time I hear it! In my opinion, this is her signature song and it is by far, my favorite song of all time, by ANY artist. I am convinced that “Roma” will find its way onto a big movie soundtrack, because it is that good!
Gisel’s beautiful Vibrato and Tremolo genuinely expresses her emotions and she transfers those emotions to the listener. It won’t be long before Gisel will be singing to a packed house with a full orchestra. I say this because that is what she deserves and I sincerely believe with all my heart, it will happen…many times!
Her music transcends International language barriers and when you hear “Roma”, I think you’ll agree. I hope everyone reading this post will visit her website and listen to her demos…you’ll be happy you did and will most certainly become a fan.
Now the fun part. Gisel LOVES butterflies, so I’ve created a “story” summarizing her journey since she first joined Sellaband in March of 2007. I hope you all enjoy it…

Wow Wolfie, that is really very beautiful!!! I don’t write like you do but your words have inspired me to create a small poem for our little butterfly. Here it goes:
Touched by the wings of a butterfly
my heart fills with joy capturing the colors
while she continues her journey
I let out a sigh
and simply wish she will touch others.

Pacarina…your poem was absolutely beautiful. We don’t have to worry about our little butterfly touching the hearts of others…look what she did to us! She is an amazing inspiration with most beautiful voice I have ever heard….

Gi…my dear, sweet friend.
You have a gift sweetie, and because you are such a beautiful soul…you simply may not realize how you’ve touched so many lives with your music. I think these comments are a testiment to your “gift”.
For me, when I first heard “Roma”, I was hooked…there was no turning back. But after I started to get to know you as a human being, and as our friendship developed, I realized that no one has ever touched my life or influenced me in the way you have.
I’ve always loved music. In the past, I’ve enjoyed listening to Jazz, New Age, Rock and Roll from the ’70s and ’80s, and Classical; but when I first visited Sellaband on April 23, 2008, music just wasn’t that important to me. I was spending most of my time listening to talk radio…boring!!!
But then I found you on Sellaband and that is when my life changed forever! You reinvigorated my LOVE for music and your vocals captured my ear like no one ever has in the past. Do you realize how big that is Gisel? That my dear, is a “gift”. It’s because of you, that I have changed my course of life…it’s because of you that I support the other artists…it’s because of you that “The Pack” was born!
I’ve never known anyone who is as caring, giving, loving, and wonderful as you and it is those qualities that make me want to be a better man.
So I guess what I am saying is…thank you Gisel. Everything I do for you is NOTHING compared to what you have done for me. I hope you believe my words, because I speak the truth. You, my beautiful Argentine Butterfly, are the most wonderful human being I have ever known. So please sweetie, go ahead and cry…it’s okay. I have tears coming from my eyes as I write this…
Vocally, you have an incredible voice. I don’t think anyone will argue with that; but, the passion that you inject into your music is what sets you apart. That passion is something that cannot be taught…it is who you are Gi and that is the “magic” ingredient that has captured my attention for life! You are the best I have ever heard!
I am honored that you and I are friends. Thank you Gi…it means more to me than anything else on earth.
I will always be by your side…you know that.

The butterfly imagery is powerful, Wolfman, and you use it so picturesquely. If only I had come to Sellaband in time to be one of those butterflies! I heard Gisel first in the videoed duet of “Tell him” with Inge, and that made me want to hear more. “I wish I could fly” was the start of my enchantment. And then “Roma”, which taught me that music goes beyond words. The amazing range of Gisel’s voice matches her range of emotion –she is one of those very rare people who sees into the human condition and reflects it back to us in ways that make us feel stronger. That is what engages my brain, heart and soul.
Gisel’s album will be very special.

What a brilliant butterfly tribute to Gisel! I truly believe that Gisel has the potential to get international recognition once her album is out. With fans like you and the others “you know who you are”, she can be set free in the world.
You know, it’s really hard to read these comments without having to grab for a tissue myself! …even if it’s an imaginary one ( what?) – don’t mind that, it’s my brain…
It’s Simple and not simple
I am easily moved by honesty and creative courageousness. or as I call it ” creageousness”
I feel it’ stating the obvious when I say it pertains to both Gisel and Wolfman. But we can never hear it enough. We are sensitive beings. Not weak. The more in touch …and able to love, the more capable we are, and wider potential we have. It’s how you handle everything that also matters.
So the most daring…give off the most light and it’s pretty blinding here
It’s an enchanting, & honest video. A tribute that can touch the warmest hearts even on the coldest nights. (Cold hearts don’t apply)
I’m lucky… because I know the passion of Wolfman.
So when he wouldn’t STOP talking about Gisel, EVEN though I’d told him that I thought she was world-wide-worthy – he insists …(without being pushy) that I hear the next song, the next (insert Gisel aspect) Even while helping Celeste and the pack with a lot of effort!
…and then! …. on so many levels about Gisel! …the need for her to progress through the world and successful….that’s a guy I want on my team.
And any day you can call the man, and one thing is going to be a constant…something you can set your watch by:
in between the talk, listen carefully …in the background, you’ll hear a voice singing – usually it’s that of Gisel, or “The Pack”
He lives it, he breathes it.

What a fantastic tribute video Wolfman has put together for you.

The next step will be to find ways to get you here in the US to showcase your wonderful talent. I am sure this will be a reality if Wolfman has his way.
