For two years, I have been anxiously waiting for the moment I could finally release this video.  Well, the day is finally here!

Gisel de Marco is the best I’ve ever heard and now, you’ll be able to witness something truly special.  This video represents the culmination of two very difficult years of carefully planned and orchestrated work.

I am posting this update on behalf of Gisel to share the progress of her debut album with all of you.

There is a lot of uncertainty and frustration in the air with the “extended” amount of time it is taking to complete her debut album; however, it is very, very close to being finished.  The album has been recorded, mixed, and mastered; the Photo Shoot was completed in January; and the artwork for the CD should be completed any day now.  I would like everyone to understand that the delay IS NOT because Gisel is moving slowly.  The Sellaband bankruptcy caused a HUGE delay, not only with her album, but other artists.  Also, Gisel is still waiting on others to complete their piece of the project and believe me, she is doing everything she can to speed things along; but there’s only so much she can do.  Gisel would have completed this album in December if things would have been done in a timely manner; but they weren’t.

I would like to assure everyone that Gisel has put everything she has into this album.  It’s her baby…it’s everything she’s dreamed of since she started down this road.  She is grateful beyond words to everyone who supported her and made this album possible and it’s because of this belief that everyone had in her, that she is committed to delivering her absolute best…and she did!  This album is going to surprise even the most skeptical people on Sellaband.  Not only is it musically awesome…her attention to the small stuff is what will set this album apart.  I’m talking about the artwork, the “extras”, and of course, the photo shoot.  People are going to be amazed at what she has done with the $50,000 budget (minus the administrative fees) and as her close friend and HUGE supporter; I am so proud of her!  I have said many times that Gisel will have one of the best album of any $50K artist, and I FIRMLY stand by that statement.  She is a perfectionist and I guarantee everyone, she will not disappoint you…instead, she will amaze us all.

I created an email account on her domain to answer any inquiries or comments; just send your questions/comments to album@giseldemarco.com.  I work during the day, but will answer the emails in the evening, so please be patient.  Europe is 9 hours ahead of my time zone, so by the time I get to them, it will most likely be after 3:00 AM European time.

Hi Everyone,

As you can imagine, Gisel is running around at supersonic speed trying to get everything finished that needs to get done before her “BIG” move. She asked me to update all of her believers with the status of her album. Unfortunately, this latest setback with the Sellaband bankruptcy has impacted her progress negatively. She is currently waiting for HQ to pay her invoices and until they do, she will not be able to move forward. Apparently, Sellaband, v2 is in the process of creating a new bank account from which to pay the invoices and they have assured Gisel that they are working on getting that finished soon, maybe by the end of this week.

Having said that, there isn’t anything she or the other recording artists can do until SAB pays the invoices, because no one will be working for free…not the producers, art directors, etc. She asks that you all understand this may slow down the release of the Album until May, but also know that this is completely out of her hands. She feels terrible that this is happening, but also wants you all to know, she is doing everything possible to speed things along.

Finally, Gisel cannot access her Sellaband account, because she has not accepted the new Terms and Conditions and I support her 100% on this decision. She will however, try her best to keep in touch with everyone through her Facebook account and this website.

Hola everyone!

I have been working on something very special…something a little bit different than my “usual” videos and I couldn’t think of a better time to show you than on the first day of 2010!  As you all know, Gisel’s album will be released soon.  Right now, it is in the technical aspect of the production and for those of you who know Gi, you would understand that she is a perfectionist and this album MUST meet her high standards, before we are blessed with it.

For those of you who haven’t heard Gisel sing, allow me to share my thoughts with you:

Gisel sings about love and when you read her lyrics, you get a sense of what to expect; but when you hear her sing…she will leave you wanting to hear more!  The passion she injects into every song is incredibly powerful; but, when you hear her riffs…her “soft” voice…the super high notes she hits…and the power with which she delivers her message…you know this is an artist that will soon be recognized around the world!

Gisel’s Dynamic vocals showcase her 4-Octave range through many of the songs you will hear on her Sellaband playlist and on her website.

She is a brilliant, extremely talented and gifted singer and songwriter who will evoke intense emotions in the listener…you will feel her passion in every song she sings!

Her versatility surfaces when she sings soft and gentle melodies that are sensuous to the ear; but in the same breath, she is capable of unleashing powerful vocals that will leave you in awe! Just listen to “Roma”…you will understand why I write this.  She begins the song softly…and then slowly builds it to an incredible finish; all while drawing the listener in, when finally, they say WOW!  That was incredible!   She sings this beautiful song in her native language of Spanish and even if you do not understand the words (like me), you will be moved by her message.   The energy and passion she brings to this masterpiece is unrivaled!  When she hits the super high note at the end…it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up…every single time I hear it!  In my opinion, this is her signature song and it is by far, my favorite song of all time, by ANY artist.  I am convinced that “Roma” will find its way onto a big movie soundtrack, because it is that good!

Gisel’s beautiful Vibrato and Tremolo genuinely expresses her emotions and she transfers those emotions to the listener.  It won’t be long before Gisel will be singing to a packed house with a full orchestra.  I say this because that is what she deserves and I sincerely believe with all my heart, it will happen…many times!

Her music transcends International language barriers and when you hear “Roma”, I think you’ll agree.  I hope everyone reading this post will visit her website and listen to her demos…you’ll be happy you did and will most certainly become a fan.

Now the fun part. Gisel LOVES butterflies, so I’ve created a “story” summarizing her journey since she first joined Sellaband in March of 2007. I hope you all enjoy it…

Hola everyone!

Wolfman here [again]. Two things…

Gisel is currently experiencing problems with her Internet Connection and is unable to reply to everyone’s emails, etc. She did mention that they are working on resolving the problem, but it may take a few days or longer. This whole thing is is driving her crazy!! Please be patient…she’s doing her best to get connected.

Secondly, thank you all again for your wonderful comments on my previous post. It’s nice to know Gisel has such wonderful and beautiful people who care about her so much!

Greetings/Hola…

It’s been a while since Gisel posted anything new and there’s a good reason for that…as her friend, I will be sharing some sad and some good news with all of you in this post.

Shortly after returning to Argentina last month, Gisel’s Aunt passed away after battling cancer these past months. As you can imagine, this has been a devestating blow to Gisel and her family. For those of you who were fortunate enough to meet her, you would know that if her Aunt was anything like Gisel, she will truly be missed by everyone who knew her, no matter where they crossed her path in life.

If she was like Gisel, she would have been a giver, she would have never been a taker; she would have always been there to help others no matter how busy she was; no matter the time of day; and, she would have never asked for, or needed anything in return.

It is for all these reasons and more, that I also grieve with Gisel and her family’s loss with a heavy heart. Gisel wanted everyone to know that she hasn’t forgotten about them…it’s just that right now, these are very difficult times for her and she sincerely hopes you all understand.

About her album…she received two of the finished songs today from Marcus Bishop, her producer. She is extremely happy with how they sound and is simply amazed with what she heard. For those of you who know Gi and her music, that is a very good sign of things to come. Gisel is a perfectionist and that is just one of the many qualities and reasons that I, and so many of you fell in love with her music; so when she expresses this kind of joy…I have to believe this album will be nothing short of exactly what I expected out of her!

The two songs she is referring to are, “What People Say” and “I Found You“. She was a little surprised because, during the recordings, she did so many improvised vocal arrangements, she didn’t remember doing some of what she heard. Gisel simply let herself “go” and since the improvised arrangements were not part of the original song, she didn’t remember singing them. All I can say is she has an incredible talent and I have all the confidence in the world, that she will blow us all away with her album!

For me, if Gisel is this pleased at this stage of the recordings, I can’t wait to see her reaction to the finished product. By that, I mean…what she heard was BEFORE the songs have been mastered. So, as you can imagine, once her album has been mastered, there is a VERY good chance that we are about to hear the best album produced by ANY Sellaband artist yet!

Gisel is doing better each day, but she is still struggling very much with her Aunt’s passing. I’m sure she would be touched by any comments you leave to this posting…let’s all give her our best, okay?

She is a beautiful soul and it breaks my heart to know that she lost someone so close to her.

After a long travel around the world these last couple of weeks, I’m finally settled down in the UK, at least for a couple days before going back to Argentina.

Russia was AWESOME!!!!!!! Fabulous!!! They treated me like a star!!!! I was picked up at the airport, they took us to the beautiful Hilton Hotel, we had our own private guide around Moscow, and the party was great!!

I am happy to say that they loved the show and they were all dancing and singing It was a very, very fancy party….I felt like royalty and the best news is that they want me to come back!!!

I was treated like a diva, and they made the impossible…possible, so I would be happy! They are really great people!

This has been a wonderful experience for me! Thank you to everyone who support me and soon, we’ll have our first CD!!! I will keep you all posted on the progress.

Hola!

I am nearing the end of my stay in Europe and it makes me sad to think about leaving. 

I have new information to share with you about upcoming gigs in the next days, so I wanted to share them with you.

First, I will be playing at the Gideon Festival at Groningen (Holland) on Saturday, the 29th of August at 1pm

Secondly, I will be playing my last gig in Switzerland in Zug at the Almodo Bar on Thursday, the 3rd of September.  I’ve included a flyer for this gig!

And finally, I will be playing in Moscow, Russia on the 5th of September.

I am sooooooo happy to be able to play these final gigs, but sad that I will be leaving this beautiful country.  Thank you all so much for supporting me!  I will never forget it!!!!

Oh, Switzerland is soooooo beautiful!  I just love it here!  I have some good news for those of you who live close to Switzerland…I’ll be playing a gig on September 2 at the Almodo Bar in Zug, Switzerland!  I will have many friends there and I hope to see you there also!  Everyone is invited!! )
